MEET TonY
Anthony “Tony” Furnari joined the Jewelry business when he applied for a sales associate job at Zales | The Diamond Store in the early 1970’s.
Although he had no previous retail experience, Tony was interviewed, hired and quickly promoted up the corporation’s managerial ladder. Tony was recognized for this hard work and commitment to outstanding customer service.
The company moved Tony and his wife throughout the Northeast to struggling store locations in need of production increase. Tony’s presence would not only increase profits, but change the attitude and image of each store he was assigned to.
In 1980, an opportunity came where Tony could break free from the corporate world and become the proud owner of his own store. Then became the legacy of Furnari Jewelers.
The 1st Furnari Jewelers opened in the Hampshire Mall in Hadley, Massachusetts in 1977.
Tony was able to offer customers a more personal jewelry experience and a better quality product at a great price. As a result, his business grew and became more successful than he’d ever imagined. Tony then moved his original store out of Hadley to Chicopee, MA. In 2012, his son, Joey Furnari, who also started working for Zales then opened up at 2nd location in Enfield, CT.
